
The Ministry of Information & Technology announced a ban on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBGM) and 117 other apps on September 2. Although many of the other apps did not have much audiences, PUBGM Ban is a huge to blow to the Indian esports Industry. The ban of the game has not only affected the life of players but also many others like esports casters, Graphics designers, Video editors, esports managers and many more. The last few days have been exciting for PUBG Mobile fans in India as many major collaborations have been announced and some hints paved a path for PUBG Mobile to get back in the country. Krafton announced a global collaboration with Microsoft Azure to ensure user privacy and data handling for all the PUBG Corporation’s titles, including PUBG Mobile. Moreover this partnership is specifically focused in ensuring the user's privacy. Several Indian PUBGM Players have already hinted a "good news" and all of these implications suggest the return of PUBG Mobile.
Additionally , the company and the parent firm KRAFTON said that they have planned to invest over $100 million dollars in India, being one of the largest markets of PUBG Mobile to boost esports, entertainment and IT business industries.They also stated that they are planning to setup an office in India and hire over 100 employees.
“Thanks to overwhelming community enthusiasm for PUBG esports in India, the company also plans to make investments by hosting India-exclusive esports events, which will feature the biggest tournaments, the largest prize pools, and the best tournament productions,” PUBG Corp said in a statement. In a statement few days ago, PUBG Corporation said, “privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.”
The relaunch of PUBG Mobile in the country reflects India’s growing prominence in the global mobile gaming and esports markets. India will be a $1 billion market for games by 2021 and the delayed response to the government's ban on PUBG Mobile could have been detrimental to Krafton, said Rupantar Guha, thematic data analyst at GlobalData.The company will also conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information, in order to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed, the firm said in a statement.
The 100 Million dollar investment of PUBG Corp will not only help the game to develop but also it provides a massive employment oppurtunities in esports, entertainment and IT sectors. People get a huge employment on and off the screen from esports players to LAN event coordinators.
